Roles and risks
Who can do what, what you trust, and what can cost you money.
Roles
| Role | What it can do |
|---|---|
| Anyone | Collect fees from Pons and trigger payments to everyone owed |
| Payment service | Book earnings on-chain, only up to the fees the contract actually holds |
| Former and current kings | Receive payments; withdraw their own earnings with claim() |
The team can upgrade the contracts.
What you trust
You can verify the price, the crownings and the payments on-chain. You trust the payment service to book earnings that match the public rules; anyone can replay them and check.
Risks
- Token price. $CTST is a meme token. Its price can fall to zero, and the ETH you spend on the crown is a buy of that token.
- Short reigns. Someone can outbid you a few seconds later. Your earnings only cover the trades made while you reigned.
- Being front-run. Others can see your buy coming and place a bigger one first.
- Selling by mistake. Any $CTST leaving your wallet ends your reign immediately.
- Payment service outage. Payments stop until it is back. Earnings already booked can be withdrawn with
claim(); the rest is rebuilt from the chain when it restarts. - Pons. The market and its fee rules belong to Pons. A change there changes what kings earn. After graduation, part of the fees may wait for Pons to release them.
